The Redland City Wind Ensemble rehearses Thursday nights from 7 pm to 9 pm. This band is our intermediate level concert band and is conducted by Ms Louise McGill. The Wind Ensemble caters for musicians who have developed to a level beyond the beginner level but not yet at the more experienced concert band level. It also caters for musicians who would like to rehearse and play a second instrument.
The band has performed at various schools, entered eisteddfods and played at the opening of the Victoria Point Cinema Complex. It plays in parks around the city and at the formal end of year concert.
Membership of the Wind Ensemble covers all age groups and comes from all around the city including the bay islands.
The Wind Ensemble has a solid focus on fun and improvement playing movie themes, show tunes, marches and the occasional hymn.
